You may be familiar with the term HCG in relation to diet and weight loss, however let’s go a little further into how HCG came to be associated with weight loss.
In the 1950’s Dr. A.T.W. Simeons observed a colleagues’ work where patients were being treated with HCG for other medical reasons besides weight loss. But surprisingly, the patients showed a significant loss of weight and a reshaping of their bodies.
From that observation, Dr. Simeons began treating overweight patients for weight loss using very small daily doses of HCG and a very low-calorie diet. Importantly, Dr Simeons discovered that his patient’s bodies reshaped; the new contour of their bodies was a result of a loss of abnormal fat deposits. “Good” fat in the body was not adversely affected. Good and healthy fat cushions our inner organs and is a protective layer over our bones and muscles. Whereas, abnormal fat deposits are found in places such as the abdomen, inner thighs, upper back, and just above the buttocks. It appeared that only the “abnormal” fat was targeted by this approach and weight was lost in places of the body where dieters previously had a hard time losing fat. Therefore, not only were pounds lost, but inches were lost as well.
Additionally, despite being on such a low-calorie food intake daily, patients did not feel hungry or without energy as long as they continued to receive small amounts of HCG each day.
At the time, the doctor’s findings were published in scientific journals and many physicians came to study with him. However, as is often the case in medicine, controversy arose in the medical community about Dr. Simeon’s HCG weight loss claims and use of the HCG protocol was significantly reduced. Fortunately, there has been a resurgence of interest in the diet protocol in the last few years and it has now become quite popular with many success stories.
This program works for most every healthy person: male, female, young or older. HCG has no adverse affect on any type of birth control.
However, absolute exceptions are:
After over 50 years of HCG use for weight loss, no side affects are known to be associated with the small amounts used in the treatment. Rarely a patient has reported a mild headache or slight dizziness during the first few days on the program, but most patients have no such complaints.
It appears that HCG acts directly on the hypothalamus to move stored fat, thus HCG prevents your body from going into starvation mode. The burning of this fat provides your body with many more calories than the low calorie diet you consume each day. It also results in weight loss with often no hunger or at most no hunger pangs after the first few days of being on the diet.
The hypothalamus is a region of the brain that interacts with the pituitary gland, each an important part of your endocrine system. The hypothalamus stimulates the pituitary to release hormones, thereby regulating homeostasis, or balance, within your body’s internal systems.
You can expect to lose between one-half and up to three pounds a day strictly following the HCG diet plan. The average is usually between one and two pounds per day and, since your body is using the excess fat for fuel to keep your systems going (breathing, heart beating, moving around, thinking, speaking, etc.), your overall health is not compromised. Mild exercise is suggested, such as walking. Heavy and strenuous exercise is not recommended during the initial phase of the diet.
Results have shown that 75 to 90 percent of patients have had little to no trouble keeping their weight off after finishing the diet. This is because your hypothalamus gets reset and it, in turn, resets your metabolic rate. When your metabolism is high, you burn calories efficiently without storing excess food as fat. In fact, excess calories should not be a problem because you will not feel a physical need to overeat.

Who can use the diet?
The treatment works for almost everyone: young, old, male, female. You can use HCG if your BMI value is not lower than twenty. Always check with your doctor before beginning any new weight loss program.
Do not use HCG if you:
Will the HCG interfere with the medication my doctor has prescribed to me?
It is always a good idea to consult with your doctor before beginning any weight loss program.
Will my birth control methods be affected by using HCG?
HCG in the small doses administered in this diet will not interfere with any form of birth control.
How much weight should I expect to loose?
Weight loss varies between a half pound and three pounds a day, with the average weight loss being one to two pounds a day.
Is it healthy to lose one to two pounds a day with HCG?
Yes, on this diet it is.
Why the low calorie diet?
You are not living off of a mere 500 calories a day. You are actually burning stored fat which adds 1000-2000 more calories a day to your energy supplies. A higher calorie diet is not needed and is considered excess calories.
Will I be hungry on this diet?
Some, but not all, patients may feel some hunger during the first few days of this diet program. However, after the first few days, hunger should resolve and you should not suffer from any hunger pangs.
Are there specific foods I should or should not eat while on this diet?
Yes. We will provide to you an easy to follow diet plan so that you will be confident in what you should be or should not be eating.
Will I be able to keep the weight off after I finish the program?
After the HCG diet, you should discover that your appetite, eating habits, and body all have changed. It should not be a challenge to eat properly, and exercise moderately to maintain your new weight.
However, in order to maintain the weight loss the most critical time is the first 6 weeks after completing the diet. During this time, the body has to accept and get used to your new weight, therefore it is essential to strictly follow the maintenance plan we provide. The first six weeks after you have reached your goal weight you enter into the “stabilization period.” Your hypothalamus has been reset, but now without the HCG , the hypothalamus is vulnerable and you will need to follow a strict disciplined eating pattern , so that the hypothalamus becomes stable at that setting or new weight. You should eat moderately and wisely to maintain the new weight after your first six weeks of ending your diet.
How much support will I get on this program?
Each member of the staff at Accurate Diagnostics is very knowledgeable in the program and eager to help you reach your goal. We are here to provide all the information, advice, and general support you need while on the program. After you reach your desired weight, we are here to help you maintain it.
What do I need to get started?
You will fill out a medical history questionnaire and complete lab work and a physical, to make certain you are a good candidate for the HCG program.
Why do I have to eat a lot during the first two days and what should I eat?
The first two days of this program are important days. These days prime the HCG pump. You will need to eat foods with high fat content. (Some suggestions include: pasta with Alfredo sauce, cheesecake, berries with heavy cream on them.) You do not need to eat until you feel like you are going to vomit, however, if you do not eat a lot of calories during these first two days, you may experience greater hunger the first week or so. Spread the calories out throughout the day.
What happens if I feel dizzy or light-headed during the day?
This probably means that your blood sugar is too low. You should eat something from the food list. Maybe try one of the vegetables of which you can have as much as you want. You may eat part of your apple or a cracker. If this happens frequently and is not relieved by eating/drinking, please call the office for further evaluation and trouble shooting ideas.
Should I take a multi-vitamin during the program?
We encourage taking a daily multi-vitamin. We have prescription grade supplements that compliment this program as well as a delicious HCG shake with vitamins in it. Do not take Fish oils while you are taking HCG.
Will drinking more water help me lose more weight?
Some patients relate drinking more water with losing more weight. It is an easy thing to try and it may help. Just be sure to drink the water at intervals spaced throughout the day. Do not drink your water all at once. Please remember that you do want to try and consume at least 2-3 liters a day.
Are there different ways to take HCG?
HCG can be taken orally or through injections.
Oral forms can be very effective as long as you take it correctly. You can not swallow it or use liquid to wash it down in order to get the necessary dose. With injectable HCG, the dosage is completely controlled and you can be truly certain you are getting the correct amount.
We believe injecting HCG is the best way to provide the most accurate dose. If it is any comfort, you can be assured that this shot is practically painless. The needle is very very tiny and you won’t feel it going in. We realize there are many people that are afraid of needles and are convinced that they would not be able to give themselves a shot and, if after we have spent time with you showing you how to load the medication, you still feel that you are unable to do it yourself, then there are several alternatives.
Where do I get the supplies?
If you choose to participate in our HCG weight loss program, we will provide the HCG to you.
We want you to be aware that HCG can not be obtained with out a doctor’s prescription. Even with a doctor’s prescription some of the HCG products sold on the internet are produced in China and other foreign countries in unregulated laboratories. The processes used to produce the product are unknown to us and the purity and the quality could vary greatly.
Another main concern of obtaining HCG from sources like the internet or other over the counter establishments, are that the products are being offered without requiring a doctor’s prescription. These products are often called Homeopathic or Alternative HCG. Please be aware that any herbal HCG is totally ineffective. You only lose time and money because herbal “homeopathic” HCG is not HCG. These products are made up of a mixture of herbs and other ingredients and could actually be harmful. At the very least, they do nothing more than waste your money. They certainly will not do the same thing as the real HCG. Our clinic uses product made in regulated labs and we have full confidence in the purity of the HCG that we use. With our clinic, you are assured you are getting “REAL” HCG.
